Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 9, 2027. In Greenville it lands on the final day of Artisphere, the city’s big fine arts festival, which fills downtown from Friday, May 7, to Sunday, May 9.

Artisphere

Artisphere, founded in 2003, is “one unforgettable weekend of art, music, and local food every May” in downtown Greenville, with an Artist Row of visiting artists. The 2027 festival is May 7-9, according to Artisphere’s website. Its office is at 101B Augusta St.

Expect road closures. In 2026 Main Street was closed from Court Street to Wardlaw Street, and Broad Street from Laurens Street to Falls Street, from 9 a.m. Thursday to 11 p.m. Sunday of festival week, the city’s event calendar showed. Plan to park in a city garage outside the festival blocks.

Markets and gifts

TD Saturday Market. From the start of May to the end of October, two blocks of Main Street turn into a farmers market of more than 75 vendors on Saturday mornings from 8 a.m. to noon, the city’s calendar says. On Saturday, May 8, the day before Mother’s Day, it is a place to shop for flowers and local food gifts. Market office: 864-298-9416; see the market’s website.   • Stella’s Southern Brasserie, 340 Rocky Slope Road: brunch 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Tupelo Honey, 1 N. Main St.: opens 8 a.m.
