What it is

Euphoria started in 2006 as Southern Exposure, a three-day food, wine and music festival founded by singer-songwriter Edwin McCain and Greenville restaurateur Carl Sobocinski, and took the name euphoria in 2008, according to the festival’s history. Its timeline says it grew to 68 events over four days in 2024, with a $5 million economic impact across the Upstate and $130,000 in community grants. The 2026 festival, the 21st, was Sept. 17-20.

The weekend mixes several kinds of tickets:

  • Guest chef dinners pairing visiting and local chefs at Greenville restaurants
  • Lunch and learns and classes at host restaurants and venues
  • Concerts and parties with food and drink included
  • Feast by the Field, the big all-day tasting. It moved to the West End in 2016 and took over Fluor Field in 2019, the festival’s timeline says.

The festival is run by Local Boys Do Good, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Proceeds go out as grants to charities, mostly in upstate South Carolina, that work on hunger, performing arts education, hospitality workers and children.

Coming up before the festival

The festival’s schedule lists a pre-festival guest chef dinner, From Screen to Table: The Encore, at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, and Tuesday, Nov. 3, at The Loft at Soby’s, at $195 a ticket. The Tuesday dinner was marked sold out when we checked.

Tickets

  • All-inclusive: food, drinks and entertainment are in the ticket price, and part of every ticket supports the festival’s charity partners.
  • Every event needs a ticket; nothing is open to the public without one.
  • On-sale dates: Spring Fest at the end of February; euphoria2027 in April. Members of the festival’s giving programs and some partners get early access, which is why some events show sold out on launch day.
  • Sold out? The only official resale is the festival’s ticket resale and waitlist form. Joining a waitlist costs $1, and waitlist tickets sell at face value.
  • Tickets are sold through SquadUp; the festival office answers ticket questions at 864-617-0231.

Parking and getting there

Events are spread across downtown restaurants and venues, so there is no single lot. Ticket holders get an event-specific FAQ email with parking details before each event, and the festival lists downtown garages on its Experience euphoria page. The organizers ask guests not to drink and drive, and suggest ride-share or a designated driver.

What to know

  • 21 and older at every event, even infants in strollers or carriers are turned away. Bring ID.
  • Pets: not allowed; service animals only.
  • Not allowed: backpacks, coolers, camping chairs, smoking and vaping, outside alcohol, weapons, strollers, professional cameras without a festival badge, and drones. All bags are inspected.
  • Allergies: for seated dinners and lunch and learns, contact the host restaurant a few weeks ahead; other events cannot guarantee special diets.
