Baseball at Fluor Field

The Greenville Drive, the Boston Red Sox’s High-A affiliate, play at Fluor Field in the West End. In June 2026 their home series were June 9-14 and June 23-28, with weeknight games starting in the evening, the city’s event calendar showed; Field Street closes from Augusta Street to Markley Street on game days. The 2027 schedule had not been posted by Oct. 16. Tickets and the schedule are on the Drive’s website.

Free music downtown

Main Street Fridays. The free weekly concert series at NOMA Square on Main Street ran from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on summer Fridays in 2026, with bands playing two sets, the city’s calendar said. Main Street closes from North Street to Beattie Place for it. On Thursday nights the city’s Downtown Alive series, also free at NOMA Square, ran in 2026 too. Juneteenth weekend

In 2026 the city’s Juneteenth at Unity Park began with walkers gathering at Falls Park and marching to Unity Park for speakers, poetry and music from 9 a.m. to noon, and the Juneteenth GVL 5K ran the next morning from Yee-Haw Brewing on East McBee Avenue, the city’s Juneteenth page and calendar showed. The 2027 dates are not out yet.

Outdoors with Dad

  • The Swamp Rabbit Trail: 28 miles of walking and biking greenway between Greenville and Travelers Rest. See our trails guide.
  • Paris Mountain State Park: hiking, kayak rentals on Lake Placid and a summer swimming area, 2401 State Park Road. Admission is $6 for adults, according to South Carolina State Parks.
  • The Greenville Zoo in Cleveland Park. In 2026 it held a World Giraffe Day on Saturday, June 20, and alligator feedings that weekend. Zoo: 864-467-4300.

  • Roost, 220 N. Main St.: Sunday brunch buffet 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Stella’s Southern Brasserie, 340 Rocky Slope Road: brunch 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Biscuit Head, 823 S. Church St.: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily
