Fireworks at Unity Park (Thursday, July 2, 2026)

The city’s show ran from 6 to 10 p.m. at Unity Park, 320 S. Hudson St., with fireworks at 9:30 p.m. For the first time, the Greenville Symphony Orchestra, joined by the Clemson University Singers, played live before and during the show instead of recorded music, the city said.

The 2026 schedule:

Time What happened
6 p.m. Gates and music
7 p.m. Military appreciation
9 p.m. Symphony pre-fireworks performance
9:30 p.m. Fireworks, with the symphony playing
9:50 p.m. Light show on the Thomas and Vivian A. Wong Honor Tower

Food trucks lined Mayberry Street. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs and a picnic. The city does not allow sparklers or any other pyrotechnics at the event, and bikes, skateboards and roller skates are not allowed inside the event site.

Getting there. The city posted a parking map and a site map. Greenlink trolleys shuttled between the downtown Greenlink Terminal and Unity Park from 5 to 9 p.m. and again from 10 to 11 p.m., with no service during the show, according to the city’s event announcement.

Swamp Rabbit Trail closure. The stretch of the trail through Unity Park sits near the launch site, so it closes during the fireworks and for about 20 minutes afterward while the Greenville City Fire Department checks the area.

Freedom Fest at Fluor Field (Saturday, July 4, 2026)

The Greenville Drive hosted Freedom Fest at Fluor Field, 945 S. Main St., with gates at 6 p.m. and fireworks at 9:30 p.m. The 2026 evening had field day games, cornhole, a hot dog eating contest, a DJ and an in-park screening of “The Sandlot.” Admission was free, the city’s Independence Weekend page said.

Fireworks rules in Greenville

  • Fireworks and model rockets are prohibited in all City of Greenville parks, under the city’s park policies. Professional displays need written permission from the fire marshal and a special event permit.
  • Sparklers, smoke bombs and Chinese lanterns are also banned in city parks.
  • Report illegal fireworks to police at 864-271-5333; call 911 for a fire or injury.

Where to watch

The best places are inside the two venues. Unity Park covers 60 acres along the Reedy River, so there is room to spread out; arrive early for a good spot. Fluor Field has stadium seating. Downtown streets around both venues fill up after the shows, and the road construction page lists any work that could affect your route.

What this means for you

  • Expect the Unity Park show a day or two before July 4 and Freedom Fest on the Fourth.
  • Leave sparklers at home; they are not allowed in city parks.
  • Check back next summer for the 2027 dates.
