Eight city departments, including the mayor's office, now work from 220 N. Main St. Council meets at the Convention Center from Nov. 9 during the rebuild.
Greenville’s City Hall offices are moving out of 206 S. Main St. for two years. Eight city departments are finishing their move to temporary offices in the NOMA office tower at 220 N. Main St., the city said Friday.
Updated Oct. 29: The city’s meeting calendar now lists the Monday, Nov. 9, City Council formal meeting in Room 102C at the Greenville Convention Center and that day’s work session in Room 103.
The 53-year-old City Hall building is being renovated. The city announced the move in a release that also sets out where City Council and the planning boards will meet in the meantime.

What the renovation includes
Contractor Reeves and Young takes over the building in November, the city said. DP3 Architects designed the renovation with Perkins & Will.
The plans include:
- a rebuilt first floor with a coffee shop in the lobby
- larger public gathering areas
- new City Council chambers at street level, moved down from the 10th floor
“By extending the energy of Upper Main’s active, mixed-use corridor and drawing forward the civic character of Court Square, the design blurs the edges between them,” Mayor Knox White said. He called it “a ‘new front door’ that signals openness.”
City Manager Shannon Lavrin said employees “deserve a space that truly works for them.”
The release does not give a cost for the renovation or a reopening date beyond the two-year timeline.
United Community Ice on Main stays in its usual spot beside City Hall for the 2026 skating season, the city said.
