Dates Hours
Friday, Oct. 16, to Sunday, Oct. 18 3 to 8 p.m.
Wednesday, Oct. 21, to Friday, Oct. 30 3 to 8 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 31 (Halloween) 1 to 4 p.m.

The last time slot is 7:30 p.m., good for entry until 7:59 p.m. On Halloween the last entry is 3:59 p.m. Through Oct. 18 the zoo closes to day visitors at 2 p.m. to set up.

Tickets. Admission is $15 for non-members and $12 for zoo members, for adults and children ages 2 to 12. Anyone who wants candy needs a $3 trick-or-treat upgrade added at checkout, so a family of four with two trick-or-treaters buys two upgrades. Babies up to age 1 are free but get no candy without an upgrade. Bring your own bag; the zoo does not hand them out. Every child must be with an adult. All sales are final, and the event goes ahead in rain unless severe weather cancels it, in which case tickets move to another night. Member questions: 864-467-4542.

Free shuttle. On event weekends a free shuttle leaves the Broad Street garage every 10 to 15 minutes. It runs from 2:45 p.m. Oct. 16-18 and Oct. 23-25 and on Oct. 30, with the last bus back from the zoo at 9 p.m. On Halloween it runs from 12:45 to 5 p.m. The zoo is at 150 Cleveland Park Drive.

City Halloween events

Puttin’ a Spell on You. The city’s Halloween mini golf pop-up decorates the McPherson Park course with music and “seasonal surprises” from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29. It is free and open to all ages, the parks department’s pop-up page says. McPherson Park is at 120 E. Park Ave. Recreation office: 864-467-8886.

Moonlight Movies Halloween night. The same evening, Oct. 29, the city’s free outdoor movie series holds its Halloween celebration in Falls Park. Times are on our trick-or-treat hours page.

Spooky Smash Showdown. Grown-up gamers get a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournament from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at the Juanita Butler Community Center, 2 Burns St. Entry is $15, according to the city’s STEAM programs page.

Neighborhood block parties

Several city neighborhoods close their streets for Halloween parties, and the city lists the closures on its event calendar. The Woodvale Halloween Block Party is from 5 to 9 p.m. on Halloween, with Woodvale Avenue closed from 4:45 p.m. In 2025 more than a dozen streets held Halloween night parties, among them Afton Avenue, Camille Avenue, Crescent Avenue, Earle Street, Jones Avenue, Sevier Street and Buckingham Road. Most of those had not filed 2026 closures with the city by Oct. 16; we will add them as the calendar lists them.
