The trash rule comes from the city’s holiday collection schedule, which had not listed 2027 dates by Oct. 16, 2026. Labor Day weekend events

TD Saturday Market. The downtown farmers market runs on Saturday mornings from May through October, from 8 a.m. to noon on Main Street, with more than 75 vendors. In 2026 the Labor Day weekend market on Sept. 5 had a booth for the Guild of the Greenville Symphony and live music, the city’s event calendar showed. Market office: 864-298-9416.

Sippin’ Safari at the Greenville Zoo. The zoo’s after-hours evening of food samples, wine, beer and live music held its 19th year on Friday, Sept. 4, 2026, the Friday before Labor Day, according to the zoo’s special events page. Watch for the 2027 date. Zoo: 864-467-4300.

International Vulture Awareness Day. The zoo marked it on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend in 2026 with a daytime program on African vulture conservation.

SC Superheroes in Motion. A 5K walk, run and roll with a 1-mile option for walkers, runners, wheelchair users and hand cyclists ran at Conestee Park on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026, with the 5K at 10 a.m., the city’s calendar listing said.

Waterparks and pools

Greenville County’s three outdoor waterparks, Discovery Island in Simpsonville, Otter Creek in Greenville and 7th Inning Splash in Piedmont, are summer-only. All three were closed for the season by mid-October 2026, according to Greenville County Rec. The Unity Park splash pad runs until Oct. 1. Details are in our summer camps and pools guide.
