Admission
The school has no attendance zone. It is “a tuition-free public charter school open to all South Carolina residents,” and “under South Carolina charter law, all rising freshman admissions are determined through a lottery process,” according to its admissions page. Admission for rising 10th and 11th graders “is based on available seats and waitlist position.”
The school holds an admissions information meeting with school tours in the fall, and families apply online during an open enrollment window each fall, the page says. It calls the lottery “non-merit-based” but says its “rigorous, college-aligned environment may not be the right academic fit for every student.”
Programs
The school’s admissions page says “84% of GTCHS students take at least one college course before graduation” and that “more than half of seniors graduate with 24 or more college credits.” Students must earn at least a 75 to receive credit in both high school and college courses, the page says.
On the state’s 2025-26 report card, 81.4% of 2026 graduates met the college-ready mark through dual-enrollment courses, and the school’s four-year graduation rate was 100%.
